Mr. Joel Hammond serves as General Manager of Shared Services, where he oversees content teams tasked with the development.
In his capacity as Head of Strategy for Media General, Joel oversees business development strategies designed to well position Media General in the global media and entertainment space. Joel has played an integral role in greenlighting new hit programming across Media General’s entertainment portfolio, including TV3’s “Ghana’s Most Beautiful,” “Date Rush,” and global collaborations like “Family Feud,” and “Unicorn Hunters”
Prior to his current role, Joel led the programming team of Media General and was instrumental in spearheading the company’s content acquisitions for hit series from local and foreign distribution partners. He has worked closely with dozens of highly influential producers in Ghana and across the globe.
He rose through the ranks over a more than 10-year tenure at the company beginning in the Research department before being elevated to oversee programming, quality assurance, and strategy and then rising to his current role as General Manager.
