MG REPORTER, PORTIA GABOR, WINS 2021 JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR

Media Generals own Portia Solomon Gabor, has been adjudged the 2021 Journalist of the Year. She received the accolade at the 26th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards Night held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.

Portia bagged two other awards at the event with her feature titled ‘Beggars Paradise’ winning the Best Television News Production while her feature story, ‘Health for Wealth’ was adjudged best in Health reporting aired on TV3 within the year under review.

Other Media General reporters won various awards at the event.

Juliet Bawuah walked away with the Best in Sports with her story on Rugby at the Beach. Joseph Armstrong Gold-Alorgbey won the Best in Education category with his coverage of how a contractor failed to hand over a completed school block in the Volta Region. Godwin Asediba took home Best in Sanitation.
In another development, Abrahim Abubakar won the Best Journalist in Cocoa Reporting, Ghana Cocoa Awards.
